Haigazian University’s Founders Day: Celebrating 70 Years of “Our Values in Action!”

Haigazian University in Lebanon marked a powerful milestone — 70 years since its founding — with a celebration of its Founders’ Day!

Under the theme “Our Values in Action,” the event brought together diplomats, thought leaders, faculty, students, and friends to reflect on how truth, freedom, and service have shaped lives, careers, and communities across generations.

From AI and healthcare to politics, education, and the workplace — our distinguished speakers shared TED-style talks showing how values aren't just ideals… they're tools for change.

- “Compassion gives care its heart; stewardship gives it direction.” – Dr. Elizabeth Prevou Trad

- “Education must stay rooted in ethics and empathy.” – Mr. Fadi Yarak

- “The most ethical leaders aren’t always the most effective — and that’s worth thinking about.” – Dr. Bassem Shabb

- “Managing relationships is at the heart of leadership.” – Mr. Samir Costantine

- “Our real task is to teach machines what it means to be human.” – Mr. Charbel Daoud

Led by Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian, President of the University, President of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE), and President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) for the Evangelical Family, the day was a celebration of legacy and a bold look ahead — reminding us that education isn’t just about knowledge, but about living our values in every sector of society.

Here's to 70 years of impact, and to many more!
