"75 Years of Giving in Obedience to God and Service to the Church." This is how the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) in Egypt intends to embody its work and service with love, in order to support humanity and every human being, emphasizing the need to defend their rights and preserve their dignity.
The organization celebrates 75 years of giving today, marking the anniversary of its founding and affirming its commitment to continuing to work with faith, hope, and a unified vision.
Culminating a journey of national giving and developmental and social service, the organization held a cultural celebration at the American University in Cairo, attended by Reverend Dr. Andrea Zaki, Head of the Evangelical Commity in Egypt, and Head of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS).
The celebration documented the joint work implemented by CEOSS with the Egyptian State institutions to serve everyone without discrimination.
Attendees were Senior Officials, Religious and Executive Leaders, as well as Egyptian State figures.
The Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Professor Michel Abs also participated, heading an MECC delegation that included the Associate Secretaries General Father Dr. Nicolas Bustros and Reverend Refaat Fikry, Professor Marlene Haydar, Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences at the Lebanese University, and Elia Nasrallah, Communication and Media Officer in the Communication and Public Relations Department.
The celebration included official speeches that reviewed the CEOSS past and achievements, and reflected its future vision and its unwavering commitment to serving humanity and the nation.
Speeches were delivered by Her Excellency Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Mervat Akhnoukh, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of CEOSS, and Reverend Dr. Andrea Zaki, Head of the Evangelical Commity in Egypt, and Head of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS).
The meeting also featured a screening of a documentary entitled "CEOSS 75," which showcases the CEOSS journey and achievements over 75 years of development and humanitarian work.
Finally, a musical performance entitled "The Human," was presented. Lyrics by Zeinab Moubarak and music by Dina Iskandar and Nayer Nagi, and featuring the Choir “Al Kanisa Tourannem” (which means “The Church Sings” Choir), led by Veronica Beves. The performance presented purposeful melodies and hymns which lyrics centered around human values such as dignity, justice, participation, resilience, and empowerment… affirming that the human cause remains a priority, no matter how difficult the challenges.
