The MECC Secretary General Professor Michel Abs Receives the President of the Romaian Cultural Society Professor Najib Jahshan and a Delegation from the Society
Future Intellectual and Cultural Cooperation Was Discussed

The Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Professor Michel Abs received the President of the Romaian Cultural Society Professor Najib Jahshan, at the head of a delegation that included Professor Elie Abdelhak, the Head of the Publishing and Documentation Committee, and Mr. Roland Khairallah, the Rapporteur of the Public Affairs Monitoring Committee, and Member of the Media and Heritage of Light Committee. The visit took place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the MECC headquarters in Beirut.
Attendees were the Journalist Lea Adel Maamary, the Media Officer and the Coordinator of the Church and Media Relations at MECC, and the TV Director Johnny Antoun, the Social Media Officer at MECC.
During the meeting, Professor Jahshan, on behalf of the Romaian Cultural Society, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Abs, especially for the cooperation with the Middle East Council of Churches in the Fifth Scientific Conference which was presided by Professor Abs, under the title " Strengthening Christian Faith Unity: The 1700th Jubilee Of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea."
Professor Michel Abs also received a letter of thanks and gratitude from Professor Najib Jahshan for the efforts of the MECC and its media team that covered the conference's activities. The letter stated, "We hope that this conference, presided over by you, will be the beginning of a fruitful and long-term cooperation between the Middle East Council of Churches and the Romaian Cultural Society for the good of our Christian community in Antioch and All the East. We firmly believe that our resilience in this region of the world can only be strengthened by faith, culture, awareness, and tireless efforts to connect our great past with the reality of our present and future."
As well as, both sides discussed ways of future cooperation and coordination to implement programs, lectures, and roundtables at various levels, particularly cultural and intellectual ones, with the aim of networking between experts and thinkers and enhancing knowledge on various historical and current issues and topics.
