The MECC Secretary General Professor Michel Abs Congratulates Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian On the Occasion of Christmas and New Year
A Visit Emphasizing the Need to Strengthen Ecumenical Efforts
On the occasion of Christmas and New Year, the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Professor Michel Abs, visited Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian, President of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE), President of Haigazian University in Lebanon, and President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) for the Evangelical Family. The visit took place on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Haigazian University in Beirut.
Professor Abs was accompanied by an MECC delegation that included Mrs. Seta Hadeshian, Associate Secretary General, Caroline Haddad, Senior Human Resources Officer, Mrs. Maha Semaan, Executive Assistant to the Secretary General, Ms. Maria Bzdigian, Programs’ Coordinator in the Theological and Ecumenical Department, and Johnny Anton, Social Media Officer in the Communication and Public Relations Department.
During the meeting, General Secretary Professor Abs congratulated Reverend Dr. Haidostian on the glorious holidays, wishing him many years of goodness and holiness, and praying that God grant him strength and blessings in his Pastoral ministry, especially in light of the current challenges that the region is facing. He also wished him a successful trip related to Haigazian University, and thanked him for his continued support for the MECC work and mission, based on his belief in the necessity of achieving the desired Ecumenical and humanitarian goals.
For his part, Reverend Dr. Haidostian welcomed the Secretary General and the accompanying delegation, expressing his joy at the visit and wishing the Middle East Council of Churches success in its endeavors to serve the Church and society. He also commended the Council's work across various Ecumenical, theological, humanitarian, social, and media spheres.
