The Middle East Council of Churches mourns Brother Nour, Founder of Télé Lumière-Noursat

“God gives, God takes. God’s name be ever blessed.” (Job 1:21)

“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!”

Today ends the journey of the “Hermit of the small screen,” as Brother Nour passed away to his Beloved Jesus on Good Friday!

On this great day, and with much hope, the Middle East Council of Churches (MECc) bids farewell to Brother Nour, Jihad Bassilis, Founder of “Télé Lumière-Noursat,” who has passed away to the Heavenly Father after completing his humanitarian and media mission with sincerity and great dedication, following a life of service marked by Prayer, love, and humility.

Brother Nour devoted his life to purposeful humanitarian and media work, carrying the message of the Gospel and spreading the values of love, peace, and fraternity across the Middle East and the world.

Brother Nour was a pioneering figure and a model of a loving, devoted, and humble human. He was a faithful witness of hope and a leading initiator in establishing a Christian media committed to human dignity and issues.

As the Middle East Council of Churches remembers the life and immense contributions of the departed, who was a valuable addition to the Council’s mission, especially in media work, it extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, as well as the family of Télé Lumière-Noursat and all its channels”, all his loved ones, and colleagues working in the media field.

We pray that the Lord Jesus, who redeemed us through His death, will unite him with His resurrection and reward him with heavenly crowns.

The Middle East Council of Churches prays to the Lord that Brother Nour’s message remains an open Gospel to the entire universe and to future generations.

Christ is Risen
