The Middle East Council of Churches General Secretary, Fr. Michel Jalakh, its Presidents and Executive Committee, condemn this weekend’s barbaric and escalating terrorist attacks on Coptic Christians in Egypt on Palm Sunday, which led to the martyrdom of more than 40 unarmed Christian worshipers.

Fr. Jalakh declares the Council’s solidarity with our brothers and sisters from the Coptic community in Egypt. We ask God for mercy, patience and solace for the families of the victims, who offered a sacrifice on the altar of the Lord for the sake of our Christians in the East.
