JORDAN – On February 17 and 18, 2022, the General Secretariat of JEC Jordan organized a series of meetings focusing on the spiritual journey of Saint Paul the Apostle and the spiritual aspect of His Holiness Pope Francis’ message during World Youth Day.
“Stand up. I appoint you as a witness of what you have seen.” Such were the words of Pope Francis during World Youth Day 2021, which inspired the slogan of the General Secretariat of JEC Jordan for the current year: “Arise and bear witness.” But how can we do that?
It was to help provide an answer to this question that JEC Jordan conducted the first of a series of meetings on February 17, 2022, which was centered on Saint Paul’s journey and how he, too, arose and bore witness to what he had seen on the road to Damascus. One of the objectives of the meeting was getting to know who Saint Paul was before and after his conversion, and how he was chosen by Jesus to convey His message all over the world.
Overseen by Fr. Wajdi Twal, the priest of the Christ the King parish in Misdar, Jordan, this meeting included members of the Secretariat and its committees, and was organized as a series of workshops to encourage the participants to work as a team and to get acquainted with each other. The meeting also focused on the roles of committee members, presenting the administrative and basic aspects of their work within the scope of the General Secretariat.
