His Holiness Catholicos Aram I Emphasizes Unity Among Jerusalem Churches in Meeting with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III, the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, during the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana. Their discussion focused on deepening cooperation among the churches of Jerusalem and addressing current challenges, particularly those faced by the Armenian Patriarchate regarding property disputes near the “Cow’s Garden.” His Holiness emphasized the importance of churches supporting one another, drawing on the teachings of the Apostle Paul.

The two leaders also held a brief conversation with Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID).

His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Mesrob Sarkissian, Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of the UAE, Qatar, and Oman.
