His Holiness Catholicos Aram I Receives the Canadian Ambassador Mr. Gregory Galligan and Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), held separate meetings with His Excellency Mr. Gregory Galligan, Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon and Ambassador-designate to Syria, and Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian, President of the Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE), President of Haigazian University, and President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC0 for the Ecangelical Family. the meetings took place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Catholicosate of Cilicia in Antelias, Lebanon.

The meeting with Ambassador Galligan provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on the current situations in Lebanon and Syria. Having recently assumed his diplomatic responsibilities in the region, Ambassador Galligan was also briefed by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I on the extensive spiritual, cultural, and humanitarian mission of the Holy See of Cilicia and its role within the Armenian Diaspora and the broader Middle East.

During his meeting with Reverend Dr. Haidostian, the discussion covered a wide range of topics of mutual concern, including the ongoing situation in Armenia, Ecumenical relations, and the current challenges and prospects facing Lebanon.
