Good Friday Commemoration in Antelias presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I
On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, a solemn service at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias commemorated the burial of our Lord Jesus Christ, presided over by Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC).
In his message, His Holiness highlighted that Christ’s tomb symbolizes life, not death. He spoke of Christ’s sacrifice, shed blood, and victory over death, which offer eternal life and guide us toward salvation.
The service concluded with His Holiness blessing the congregation using a relic of the Cross of Christ, after which the faithful bowed before the tomb.
