The Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia Participates in the Armenian Heritage Conference Held in Bern
An Armenian Heritage Conference, organized by the World Council of Churches in collaboration with the Protestant Church in Switzerland, will take place in Bern, Switzerland, on May 27 and 28. The conference will focus on the consequences of the conflict in Artsakh, specifically regarding the protection of Armenian religious and cultural heritage, the human rights of its indiginous people, and the future security of the Armenian nation.
Both Catholicoi of the Armenian Church, His Holiness Karekin II of the Holy See of Etchmiadzin and His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), will participate in the opening session. Catholicos Karekin II will address the audience in person, while Catholicos Aram I will deliver his message via video.
The Holy See of Cilicia will be represented by His Eminence Arch Nareg Alemezian, the director of the ecumenical department of the Catholicosate; Professor Teni Pirri-Simonian, the representative for ecumenical relations of the Holy See of Cilicia in Switzerland; Seta Hadeshian; Associate Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches; and Mario Nalbandian, Vice President of the Socialist International.
