His Holiness Pope Tawadros II Inaugurates the World Service Week for Youth of the Coptic Orthodox Church Worldwide
On Saturday, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, inaugurated the fifth Service Week for the youth of the Coptic Orthodox Church from around the world at Karma House in King Mariout.
The opening ceremony included a documentary showcasing the history of the Logos Gatherings from 2018 until now. Afterwards, the youth engaged in a discussion with His Holiness, discussing topics related to service, the work of the apostles, and comparisons between the past and the present.
His Holiness Pope Tawadros spoke about the theme of the Service Weeks, “GPS,” and offered a new spiritual reflection on its meaning:
-G for Glory
-P for Power
-S for Sky
At the conclusion of the event, and in a touching gesture, the youth celebrated the 37th anniversary of His Holiness' monastic life, which coincides with the end of this month.
World Service Week for Youth of the Coptic Orthodox Church is the fifth such week organized for youth from the Logos Gatherings of 2018 and 2022. A total of 80 young men and women from around the world are taking part. The week is held under the patronage of the HIGH Office for Service Weeks, and the theme of this year’s event is “Discipleship.”
