His Holiness Pope Leo XIV Extends Congratulatory Letter to His Holiness Catholicos Aram I

On the morning of Monday, January 5, 2026, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), received His Excellency Archbishop Paolo Borgia, the Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon.

His Excellency Archbishop Borgia extended to His Holiness a congratulatory letter from His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. In the letter, the Pope expresses his gratitude to His Holiness Catholicos Aram I for his participation in Ecumenical and inter-religious meetings during his recent visit to Lebanon.

On this occasion, the Papal Nuncio also conveyed the Pope’s best wishes to His Holiness for the New Year and the Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany.

The meeting was attended by His Grace Bishop Dadjad Ashekian, Chancellor of the Catholicosate, and V. Rev. Fr. Bsag Tepirdjian, co-officer of the Ecumenical Department of the Catholicoate.
