His Holiness Aram I Closely Monitoring the Situation of Armenian Communities in the Middle East

Throughout the day on March 12, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), maintained contact with Church and Community Leaders across the Middle East to receive updates on the situation affecting Armenian Communities in the region.

Based on the information provided by local Leaders, the situation is currently as follows:

Gulf Region:
In Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, an atmosphere of insecurity and uncertainty continues to prevail. The ongoing regional tensions have also led to a decline in socio-economic conditions. Armenian Communities in these countries have not reported any human or material losses.

Iran:
In Iran, the situation remains dangerous, with bombardments continuing. Earlier today (March 12), a missile struck an Armenian neighborhood, resulting in material damage.

Lebanon:
In Lebanon, attacks continue, particularly in Southern Lebanon and the Southern Suburbs of Beirut. Targeted strikes were also reported in other areas of Beirut. The Armenian Community has not been directly affected by these bombardments.

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I continues to follow developments closely and remains in regular communication with Community Leaders throughout the region.

We pray that the war will soon come to an end and that lasting peace will be established across the Middle East.
