MECC Delegation visiting His Holiness Aram I

“The Middle East Council of Churches is not simply an Ecumenical Organization and an Ecumenical NGO, it rather encompasses all the Churches in the Middle East, a Council for them all together”. This was the message of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Cilicia, in support of the ecumenical mission of the Middle East Council of Churches to build bridges among the Churches and promote their unity.
His Holiness added that ” This Council aims at deepening the roots of unity in the Levant, which is a big challenge for our Churches, especially in these difficult times for the Middle East”.
His Holiness was meeting a delegation from MECC presided by Secretary General Dr. Souraya Bechealany in the Armenian Orthodox Catholicosate of Cilicia in Antelias.
The delegation included the Director of MECC Theological and Ecumenical Department Father Gabriel Hachem, MECC Executive Committee Member for the Orthodox Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia Dr. Jean Salmanian, MECC Communication and Media Director Mrs. Huguette Salameh, and MECC Theological and Ecumenical Department Executive Assistant Miss. Zella Kadouzian.
After giving her wishes to His Holiness, the Secretary General made a brief of the Council’s programs and projects, and invited him to the Ecumenical Prayer that will be held on the eve of January 22 in the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchal See in Atchaneh.
