The Lady of Annunciation Church in Aleppo

Survived Destruction and Got Back to Life

The restoration activities have been completed in Lady of Annunciation Church affiliated to the Latin Church in Aleppo Governorate. The activities included the basement of the Church, which will be used to implement programs and projects aiming at serving and developing the local community in Aleppo.

Believing that education and knowledge are the optimal solution for rebuilding society, MECC rehabilitated classrooms for students in addition to vocational training halls to train and enable youth to enter the labor market. Moreover, a kitchen was rehabilitated in the basement to cook food for sick and elderly people.

MECC works on the restoration and rehabilitation of faith-based social services and religious infrastructure damaged during the crisis in Syria in all Syrian governorates in cooperation with Kerk in Actie organization in Netherlands.

The Lady of Annunciation Church is located in Al Midan neighborhood in Aleppo City. It is an active Church in the area that was on the frontline of battles which took place in the city. As a result of the military actions in the area, the infrastructure of the Church, as well as the other buildings and houses in the area, was severely damaged.
