Momentum, the Weekly Newsletter from the Middle East Council of Churches

The new issue of the weekly newsletter Momentum issued by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Middle East Council of Churches presents the daily prayers of the “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” 2022 in Arabic and the Prayer of Unity also in Arabic, as well as the 2022 booklet. As for the weekly message of the MECC Secretary General Dr. Abs, it was entitled “A Prayer for Unity”.

It also Includes the message of the Director of the MECC Theological and Ecumenical Department Father Antoine Al Ahmar published in the “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” booklet 2022 under the title “Unity for Christian Prayer”.

Moreover, the issue presents a report about the Ecumenical Movement’s history entitled “On the Occasion of the “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity”, The Ecumenical Movement: The Historical Church Legacy and Godfather of Christian Unity for Generations”.

In preparation for the ecumenical journey towards the 12th MECC General Assembly, the issue publishes the speech of His Beatitude Patriarch John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and president of MECC for the Greek Orthodox Family, during the Council’s 11th General Assembly.

It also includes the MECC Departments’ news, the ecumenical calendar for January 2022, various Ecumenical reports, videos related to the Council, the weekly Prayer, and news of the Middle Eastern Churches. 

In addition, the issue presents a socio-economic overview of the Middle East during 2021 and the latest updates of the Coronavirus in the region.
