Organized by ATIME

Under the patronage of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, and in the presence of His Eminence Bishop Michael, General Bishop and Vice Dean of the Theological Seminary in Anba Ruwais, Egypt, the Association of Theological Institutes in the Middle East (ATIME) organized a cultural gathering entitled "Care for Nature and Creation". Hence, 150 students from Theological Institutes in Egypt participated in the activity which was held on Friday 3 March 2023, and hosted by the Theological Seminary in Anba Ruwais.

The gathering included three sessions that focused on the care for nature and the environment on the Biblical and Ecclesiastical levels, in addition to exchanging opinions and practical experiences. The sessions were held in the new administrative building at the Coptic Orthodox Papal Headquarters in Cairo. The meeting also included many workshops and a discussion session for students entitled "What can we do for our environment?", which was held in the college auditoriums. Then, the students prepared a set of practical recommendations that will be applied later in their faculties.

The meeting contributed in strengthening environmental and Church advocacy among the participants, as it also aimed at improving capacities and developing environmental skills within the framework of the Church. As well as, the meeting was characterized by an atmosphere of joy and lust for learning, as it concluded with fruitful and effective results.
