Waste Management Campaign in Dara’a Providing 80 Temporary Employment Opportunities

MECC launched a waste management campaign in Dara’a Al Balad and Ma’araba cities in Dara’a Governorate within it Cash for Work Program.

The campaign contributed to removing and transporting garbage in addition to the distribution of 15 garbage bins in each city. Moreover, MECC organized awareness raising sessions on solid waste management for 50 persons.

The campaign contributed to providing temporary job opportunities to 80 persons, including 13 women and 15 persons with disabilities.

Every day, I go to work filled with enthusiasm knowing that I am going to make the residents of our city happy and relieved to see it clean. The population are happy with our work and they always support us through providing cold water and welcoming us. Some of them are now committed to throwing garbage in specified locations. My participation is an important opportunity provided by MECC to earn money to support my family and buy medication for my ill wife.
