Un simposio internacional organizado por el Consejo Mundial de Iglesias y la Asociación Mundial para la Comunicación Cristiana

El Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (WWC, World Council of Churches) y la Asociación Mundial para la Comunicación Cristiana organizaron un simposio internacional en línea titulado «La comunicación para la justicia social en la era digital», entre el 13 y el 15 de septiembre de 2021, centrado en el impacto de la transformación digital en las comunidades y sociedades.

Como parte de las celebraciones del «Tiempo de la Creación» en el mundo y en Oriente, el Instituto Ecuménico para el Medio Oriente organizó en su sexta edición una reunión especial sobre este «tiempo» medioambiental y cristiano con un miembro del Comité Adhoc de Eco-Justicia del Consejo de Iglesias del Oriente Medio, el Dr. Dany El-Obeid, de la Iglesia Ortodoxa, el jueves 23 de septiembre de 2021 en el Hotel Le Crillon en el Líbano.

Following the international symposium "Communication for Social Justice in a Digital Age", which was organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and World Association for Christian Communication, along with a group of international organizations, the participants issued the draft of the symposium’s Manifesto. In an initiative to activate communication and build bridges, the MECC Communication and Public Relations Department translated the draft of the Manifesto into Arabic.

An International Symposium Organized by the World Council of Churches and World Association for Christian Communication

The World Council of Churches and World Association for Christian Communication organized an international online symposium entitled “Communication for Social Justice in a Digital Age”, between 13 and 15 September 2021, focusing on the impact of digital transformation on communities and societies.

As part of the “Season of Creation” celebrations in the world and East, The Ecumenical Institute for the Middle East organized in its sixth edition a special meeting about this environmental and Christian season with member of the Ecojustice Adhoc Committee at the Middle East Council of Churches Dr. Dany El-Obeid, from the Orthodox Church, on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Le Crillon Hotel in Lebanon.

The new issue of the weekly newsletter Momentum issued by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Middle East Council of Churches, presents the news of the new training implemented as part of the “Trauma Healing and Spiritual Counseling” program by the Theological and Ecumenical Department for a group of youth. As for the weekly message of the Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs, it was entitled " Human Dignity: Violations and Response!".

Under the patronage of the Syriac Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al Rai, the Middle East Council of Churches has the honor to invite you to participate in the closing Prayer of the "Season of Creation" which is being celebrated for the first time in the East. The Prayer will be held on Sunday October 3, 2021 at 5 pm Beirut Time, in the Monastery of the Visitation, Philokalia Institute and Organization, in Aintoura, Keserwan – Lebanon.

The Holy Synod of the Armenian Catholic Church elected Archbishop of the Armenian Catholics in Armenia, Georgia, Russia and Eastern Europe HE Raphaël François Minassian as the new Catholicos and Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholics. The election was made following the Synod of the Armenian Catholic Church that was held since September 20, 2021 in the Pontifical Armenian College in Rome, Italy.

We do not need to delve deeply into social statistics in order to ascertain the extent of violations of people's dignity in all parts of the world.

It is enough for us to be aware of the number of arrests taking place among those who stand up and voice out their opinions as well as among those who demand their rights or the rights of others.

It is enough for us to explore, through the media, the destitute areas in rich and poor countries alike, in addition to the belts of misery that continue to characterize the societies of the modern world.

As part of the new television series about the “Days of the Season of Creation” 2021 launched by the MECC Communication and Public Relations Department, the fourth episode will be broadcasted on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 8:30 PM Beirut time and 5:30 GMT on Télé Lumière and Noursat, and will be reran on Friday, September 24, 2021, late morning. Praying For Our Home Planet & Its People

Sesiones de acompañamiento psicológico y espiritual en el corazón de la naturaleza libanesa

El Departamento Teológico y Ecuménico del MECC implementó un nuevo curso de formación como parte del programa «Sanación de traumas y orientación espiritual» para un grupo de jóvenes en el monasterio de la Congregación de las Hermanas Maronitas de la Sagrada Familia en Akoura, Líbano, del jueves 16 al domingo 19 de septiembre de 2021. El curso de formación fue organizado por la coordinadora del programa, la hermana Emilie Tannous, en colaboración con el coordinador de los programas del departamento, Jean-Pierre Eid.

Dentro de las actividades del Programa de Formación Profesional, el MECC impartió formación profesional en Damasco a 32 personas de entre 18 y 33 años.

La formación, de tres meses de duración, incluyó los fundamentos de la peluquería y la cosmetología masculinas, a los que siguieron unos cursos de cinco días para la creación de empresas, en los que se abordaron los métodos para poner en marcha un pequeño negocio.

Ahora que el Medio Oriente celebra por primera vez el «Tiempo de la Creación» internacional, merece la pena destacar el centro medioambiental Anáfora, de la Iglesia Copta, en Egipto.

As we celebrate from September 1 to October 4 of each year the “Season of Creation”, let us all praise and glorify the Lord our Creator and thank Him for all the gifts He has given us. Let us raise our Prayers to God, with one heart, so He may grant us the potential and determination to protect the environment and preserve our common home.

Together for a Safer Environment!

As part of the Eastern “Season of Creation” 2021 activities, and under the patronage of the Middle East Council of Churches, a campaign to clean up the Raouche Beach in Beirut, Lebanon, was implemented on Saturday, September 18, 2021, morning. It was entitled “Keep it Clean! Keep it Green!”. The campaign was organized by Youth and Students for Peace organization, Lebanese Scout Association, and Jerusalem See, Lebanon and the Near East, the Coptic Orthodox Church of Our Lady and Saint Mark the Apostle in Lebanon.

‘We are all the brothers and children of one Nature, and mankind is invited to sanctify Mother Earth’

“In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters.” (Genesis 1: 1-2). This is how God created Earth and everything on it, and gathered all of them in one environment, thus creating Man in His image, and after His likeness, making him guardian of the Earth.

The Middle East includes many of the most important places of worship and Prayer centers in the world, such as the Anaphora Center in Egypt, which is distinguished by its environmental location in the heart of nature. So, what are the meanings behind this place? What is its importance? And why was it created in a simple environmental way?

Psychological and Spiritual Support Sessions in the Heart of the Lebanese Nature

The MECC Theological and Ecumenical Department implemented a new training as part of the “Trauma Healing and Spiritual Counseling” program for a group of youth at the Convent of the Congregation of Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family in Akoura, Lebanon, from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 September 2021. The training was organized by the program coordinator Sister Emilie Tannous in cooperation with the coordinator of the department's programs Jean-Pierre Eid.

As the Middle East is celebrating for the first time the international "Season of Creation", it worth highlighting the Anaphora environmental center, home of the Coptic Church, in Egypt.
