The MECC Service and Relief Department - Diakonia organized vocational training courses for 175 women, with the aim of developing their abilities and enhancing their skills.

The MECC Service and Relief Department - Diakonia organized psychosocial support sessions for 248 citizens living in Mount Lebanon and its South.

Amid the economic crises in Lebanon, the team of Our Lady Dispensary, affiliated to the Middle East Council of Churches and located in Sabtiyeh - Lebanon, helped 800 people affected by the difficult living conditions, by providing medical services, which prices are increasing daily.

El Consejo de Iglesias del Oriente Medio sigue desempeñando su función de socorro en las víctimas de Beirut, en respuesta a las necesidades urgentes derivadas por la explosión del Puerto y sus repercusiones catastróficas.

A la luz del empeoramiento de las crisis económicas en el Líbano y del brote masivo de la pandemia del coronavirus en todo el país, el Consejo de Iglesias del Oriente Medio continúa su misión humanitaria proporcionando un nuevo lote de suministros de socorro a las familias más pobres y necesitadas. Este programa se puso en marcha con el fin de apoyar a los libaneses a superar las difíciles circunstancias y sus repercusiones.

Recientemente, el FBI publicó un informe en el que se afirmaba que sólo habían explotado 500 toneladas de nitrato de amonio, lo que niega las afirmaciones anteriores de que 2,700 toneladas de la sustancia eran responsables de todos los daños en Beirut. Como tal, complementa las afirmaciones de muchos expertos químicos.

En otra actualización reciente relativa a la explosión de Beirut, Fadi Sawan, el investigador judicial asignado al caso de Beirut, fue suspendido de las investigaciones ya que dos ex-ministros acusados de negligencia, presentaron una demanda solicitando que el caso fuera transferido a otro juez.

Este es el boletín semanal unificado del Consejo de Iglesias del Oriente Medio.
