Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Spreads Flowers of Peace and Love in Lebanon
Father Nohra Sfeir, a Carmelite from the Discalced Carmelite Friars in Lebanon, in an Exclusive Interview with the MECC Media:
"The Relics of Saint Therese remind us of the steadfastness of faith and the importance of trust in God and surrender to Him
We are called to be messengers of love"
"I travel across Lebanon for the sake of love and peace." Saint Therese of the Child Jesus chose, on the centenary of her canonization, to travel across the Land of the Cedars from South to North, passing through various Dioceses, Churches, and regions, carrying flowers of hope and holiness to spread them in the land of holiness and faith.
While Lebanon is in dire need of a glimmer of hope at a time when it longs for stability and peace, the eyes of the Lebanese are fixed on the Relics of Saint Therese, which are returning to Lebanese territory for the second visit of its kind, between June 13 and July 20, twenty-three years after her first visit.
The heavens rejoice, the angels exult, and the faithful raise their Prayers, seeking the Saint's blessing and drawing from her strength, determination, and love. What is the significance of this visit? What are its implications for our lives today?

Implements Emotional Support Sessions for Youth Girls in Lebanon
With the intensification of daily challenges, the Diakonia and Social Service Department, Lebanon’s Office, at the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), organized a program titled "Emotional Support for Youth Girls" with two groups of adolescent girls aged 12-14 years and 15-17 years. The program aimed to empower them, enhance their mental health, and help them overcome the difficulties they may face.
This program, which extended over many weeks, comes at a time when both parents are obliged to work to sustain their households, and many children and adolescents are left alone without the proper guidance and the necessary counseling of their loves ones. As such, they are left to deal with the different hurdles in school or society in general without getting the proper chance to talk about what they go through.

Statement Issued by the Middle East Council of Churches
Regarding the Explosion Today at St. Elias Church in Dweilaa, near Damascus, Syria
The Presidents of the Middle East Council of Churches strongly condemn the terrorist attack and explosion that occurred this evening, Sunday, June 22, after 6:00 PM at St. Elias Church in the town of Dweilaa, near the Syrian capital, Damascus.
This attack took place on the Feast of All Antiochian Saints, adding a new group of holy martyrs to the saints of the Church of Antioch, those who fell today during the Divine Liturgy, in which hundreds of believers and clergy of various ranks were participating.
Once again, the hand of treachery and terrorism reaches out to the innocent who gathered for prayer and supplication, seeking the Creator for humanity and for Syria. This has led to a large number of martyrs, living martyrs, and wounded, who have watered the ground of the church with their pure blood…

War, Time and Again
Professor Michel Abs
The Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC)
Once more, it is war, knocking on the doors of peaceful people, demolishing their homes and what they have built in terms of civilization.
These are machines of killing and destruction, operated by those blind to insight, commanded by the conscienceless, driven by people whose hearts are ruled by greed.
It is war, ladies and gentlemen, coming at you from nowhere, like the dragon of the Mediterranean landing on the shores of the Land of Canaan, sowing terror and annihilation, before being slain by Saint George, the bearer of victory.
The sleeping and secure people awake to the sound of its drums, not knowing who beats them, those who dictate to them the books of ruin, displacement, and misery, sending them into the unknown.
Nations in their daily life, families in their homes, children in their schools, workers in their workplaces, do not await war, nor do they know why it is forced upon them by authorities indifferent to their lives, concerns, and fate.
Most people do not know that behind these apparent states are hidden powers plotting in secret for their own extremely narrow interests, defined by their wealth and power.
In war, the famous saying rings true: “To kill a man in a forest is an unforgivable crime; to kill a whole nation is a matter for debate”…
