What is the Supreme Council of the Evangelical Community in Syria and Lebanon?

The Supreme Council of the Evangelical Community in Syria and Lebanon is the official representative body of Protestant Evangelical churches in both countries. Established in 1937, the Council unites 17 church congregations and serves as a central authority for spiritual, administrative, and educational matters. Its work builds on a rich heritage of mission, church growth, and contributions to education and civil society in the region.

With historical roots reaching back to the 19th century, the Evangelical presence has shaped communities through churches, schools, and institutions such as the American University of Beirut (AUB), the Lebanese American University (LAU), Haikazian University (HU), and Middle East University (MEU).
