The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land Celebrates the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Each year in January, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is celebrated. This special week brings together Christians of all Creeds to honor their shared beliefs as followers of Jesus Christ. This year, the theme for the week is, “There is one body and one spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling,” from Ephesians 4:4.
Each day this week, a different Church in Jerusalem is hosting a Prayer. On the evening of Monday 26 January 2026, the Service was hosted by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL) at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem. Many Christian siblings from Jerusalem and beyond joined the Service to acknowledge their faith that transcends their differences, uniting them in their shared call to serve God’s people throughout the earth.
