Key American Christian leaders called on US President Donald Trump to recognize East Jerusalem as capital of the State of Palestine and the US Congress to adopt a balanced policy in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Upon the invitation of His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church, the Holy Synod of our Syriac Orthodox Church started its sessions at the Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh – Lebanon.

Concerning the Current Developments in the Orthodox World, the Holy Synod of Antioch met in the Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchal Monastery, Lebanon, (October 3-6, 2018) and made the following statement:

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL) consecrated and installed The Rev. Sani Ibrahim Charlie “Barhoum” Azar as the fourth Bishop in the church’s history on 12 January, 2018. His tenure follows the 20-year term of Bishop Emeritus, Munib Younan, who was celebrated in a service on 10 January, 2018.
