Grants for Small Business Restoration | Syria

Believing in the need to help displaced and affected persons to secure a decent life for their families; MECC provided 37 financial grants to restore small businesses in Damascus and its rural areas.

There was a variety in the projects targeted including: carpentry, sewing, sculpting, women hairstyling and cosmetology, aluminum joinery workshop, pastry baking, beekeeping, traditional (beans) plates restaurant, auto-repair shop, candle manufacturing, metal casting, marble cutting, farming equipment.

Laila, who used to work in sewing since she was young, said,” I benefited from the grant provided by MECC and managed to buy two sewing machines. I am working with my friend in a sewing workshop and receive a part of the profits. Now I can provide a decent life to my children after the death of my husband.”
