El MECC organizó una formación sobre temas de concienciación sanitaria y apoyo psicológico para 15 mujeres de Damasco.

Durante los seis días de formación, las participantes conocieron las enfermedades más frecuentes de la sociedad, sus causas, el tratamiento y los métodos de prevención, además de aprender a medir la presión arterial y los fundamentos de los primeros auxilios.

If the chaos in Lebanon is not addressed, it may be a prelude to the final disintegration of society and state of Lebanon

The state of affairs that the situation in Lebanon has reached, which culminated in the explosion and fire disaster in the Akkar region, which does not lack disasters, calls for taking extraordinary measures to address circumstances that go far beyond what can be described as abnormal and unacceptable.

The overwhelming chaos that characterizes the course of things in Lebanon today, if not addressed by drastic measures, may be a prelude to the final disintegration of society and state in Lebanon, which leads to what has ominous consequences and turns it into a “consolation award” in any potential international settlements.

Within the framework of the “Season of Creation” 2021 activities, the Middle East Council of Churches issued for the first time in the East this project through translating the project’s international booklet into Arabic. Therefore, people and Christians in the East will be able to participate in the season’s celebrations, from 1 September to 4 October, as each year. This year’s theme is " A home for all? Renewing the Oikos of God ".

UNICEF Warns: More than 30% of Children Go to Bed Hungry

“The situation has been worsening ever since”, these are the words UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Ted Chaiban used to describe the living conditions in Lebanon today. Ever since that tragic moment, at 6:07 pm, the Lebanese capital hit rock bottom and what’s left of this country is awaiting certain doom.

MECC organized a training about health awareness issues and Psychological Support for 15 women in Damascus.

During the six-day training, the participants were introduced to the most prominent diseases in society, their causes, treatment and prevention methods in addition to learning how to measure blood pressure and basics of first aid.

Desde que nuestro Levante recibió grandes golpes en su historia, hasta el día en que Beirut fue barrida por los vientos de la traición y del abandono, nuestros equipos han estado presentes cumpliendo lo que su convicción y su deber humanitario les dicta.
A través de las labores de socorro estamos presentes, y tanto en la rehabilitación como en la acción de desarrollo curamos las heridas de nuestro pueblo y de los miembros de nuestra comunidad.

Una de las paradas de la bendita peregrinación del icono de la Sagrada Familia al Líbano fue la sede del Consejo de Iglesias del Oriente Medio en Beirut, donde fue recibido por el Secretario General del Consejo, el Dr. Michel Abs, y el equipo del Consejo.
El icono estuvo acompañado por el Vicario Patriarcal Sirio-Católico de la Eparquía de Beirut y Jefe del Comité Organizador de las Visitas del Icono, emanado del comité de «Justicia y Paz», de Su Eminencia el Obispo Mathias Charles Mrad, y de la Coordinadora General del Comité Sra. Suzy Hajj.

Human groups cannot succeed and achieve what they aspire to if they are not organized within a managerial coordination framework which the science of organization and management has traditionally called “Munazzamah”, which is the Arabic translation of the expression Organization. As for the word “Institution” it was adopted in the Arabic language in order to facilitate the understanding of what the researcher in the field of organizational science and organizations means.

Ever since our Levant was slapped with great blows in its history, until the day Beirut was swept out by the winds of treachery and neglect, our teams have been present accomplishing what their conviction and humanitarian duty dictates to them.

Through relief work we are present, and through rehabilitation as well as through development action we nurse the wounds of our people and members of our community.

One of the stops of the blessed pilgrimage of the Holy Family Icon to Lebanon was the headquarters of the Middle East Council of Churches in Beirut, where it was received by the Council’s Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs and the Council's team.

The icon was accompanied by the Syriac Catholic Patriarchal Vicar of Eparchy of Beirut and Head of the organizing committee for the icon’s visits, emanating from the "Justice and Peace" committee, His Eminence Bishop Mathias Charles Mrad, and the General Coordinator of the committee Mrs. Suzy Hajj.

Nacida en el Líbano, viví los días dorados de los años 60 y principios de los 70, cuando el crecimiento económico estaba en su apogeo. La mano de obra y el dinero eran abundantes, la vida cultural estaba repleta de espectáculos artísticos y ricos, los teatros estaban llenos, las exposiciones de artistas de renombre eran el orgullo de los libaneses, los restaurantes estaban repletos de gente, las mesas abundaban con maravillosos y deliciosos mezzes innumerables, que atraían a turistas de todo el mundo.

Antes de la tarde del 4 de agosto, a las 6:07, el puerto de Beirut era considerado uno de los más importantes del Oriente Medio, y un respiro para el Líbano y sus países vecinos.
Antes de ese desafortunado séptimo minuto, la parroquia de San Antonio el Grande, situada frente al mar y vecina del Puerto, estaba envuelta de árboles, y su cúpula, un paso más cerca del cielo, anidaba pájaros.

Hasta el día de hoy, nuestro mundo sigue siendo testigo de dolorosos acontecimientos y cambios estructurales económicos, sociales y políticos. Estos acontecimientos sólo afectan a las clases sociales más bajas, es decir, a lo que hoy en día es el 85% de los ciudadanos de los países que siguen enfrentándose a la crisis y a un continuo empeoramiento de las condiciones económicas, sociales y políticas.
