Celebrating the Season of Creation 2025 with the Scouts of Lebanon
In the garden and forest of the Nazareth Monastery in Ain Alak, Lebanon, members of the Scouts of Lebanon (Les Scouts du Liban) gathered to pray for the Season of Creation 2025, on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
The Prayer was attended by Father Father Movses, an Armenian Cilician Monk, from the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), who gave an introduction about the Season of Creation and the care of creation, highlighting the importance of scouting activities and their role in preserving the garden of social peace.

A Consultative Meeting Between the MECC Secretary General Professor Michel Abs
And Mr. Jens Halve, from “Bread For the World” Organization
As part of strengthening relations between the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) and its partners, the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches Professor Michel Abs, received Mr. Jens Halve, from “Bread For the World” organization, the Protestant Agency for Diakonia and Development (EAD), "Churches helping Churches" Unit in West Asia and Europe. The meeting was held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the MECC headquarters in Beirut.
Both parties discussed joint work to achieve the desired Ecumenical and humanitarian goals for the good of the Church and society and to serve every human on this earth.
The MECC Secretary General Professor Michel Abs Participates in the Founders' Day Celebration of Haigazian University in Lebanon
On the occasion of its Founders' Day, the Haigazian University in Lebanon held an official celebration attended by Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian, President of the University, President of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE), and President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) for the Evangelical Family, who delivered a speech for the occasion. The celebration took place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the University’s campus in Beirut.
The celebration was attended by the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Professor Michel Abs, along with the University's administrative body, Professors, students, experts from various fields, and guests.
The event included speeches on the essential values of life, as well as the University's journey and frameworks. This is in addition to a musical performance by a group of talented students.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, received at the Papal Headquarters at the Monastery of St. Bishoy in Wadi El Natrun, the Secretary-General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Professor Dr. Michel Abs. Abs who is currently visiting Egypt as part of his participation in the Faith and Environment Conference and How to Preserve God's Beautiful Creation. Professor Abs briefed His Holiness about the Council's current activities and programs for social coexistence, respect for others, and peacebuilding.
His Holiness Pope Tawadros II commended these constructive efforts and extended his greetings to all members of the Council and its various committees.

The Middle East Hosts Its Fourth Edition with the Blessings of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, at the Papal Logos Center - Wadi El Natrun, Egypt
With joy mixed with a firm faith in Jesus Christ and a youthful Ecumenical spirit full of hope, the Middle East hosts the activities of the Fourth program of the World Council of Churches (WCC)' Global Ecumenical Theological Institute (GETI) at the Papal Logos Center in Wadi El Natrun, Egypt. The event is an oasis of Prayer, study, and exchange of experiences, with the participation of Theology students from various Church Families around the world.
With the blessings of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, and on the occasion of the 1700th commemoration of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in 325, the GETI program will extend from October 12 to 29, 2025, under the theme "Where Now for Visible Unity?". This program coincides with the WCC Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order, which will be held from October 24 to 28, 2025, at the Papal Logos Center.
