On March 17, the longest serving patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, died after being hospitalized earlier that day.
During the funeral of the Late patriarch, Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, read a message by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV addressed to His Eminence Shio Metropolitan of Senaki and Chkhorotsku Locum Tenens of the of the Patriarchal See Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Georgia.
Custody of the Holy Land: ‘Prayer continues uninterruptedly’
In the midst of the violence in the Middle East, the Custody of the Holy Land invites people around the world to spiritually join in the Prayers "so that war and violence may cease, and that the paths of dialogue, diplomacy, and politics...may be walked with courage and responsibility."

His Holiness Pope Leo XIV made this appeal at his weekly General Audience in the Vatican on Wednesday, recalling that the Funeral of Father Pierre El-Rahi is celebrated on Wednesday in Qlayaa, Lebanon.
The Pope recalled that Father El-Rahi was the Maronite parish priest of one of the Christian villages in southern Lebanon, which, in these days, "are once again experiencing the tragedy of war."

The General Secretariat of the Synod publishes the first two Final Reports of the Study Groups established by His Holiness Pope Francis following the First Session of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops: that of Study Group No. 3 on 'The mission in the digital environment' and that of Study Group No. 4 on 'The revision of the Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis Sacerdotalis in a missionary Synodal perspective.'
