The Middle East Council of Churches is participating in the Third ACT Alliance Assembly in Uppsala –Sweden (28 October- 1 November), through its delegation headed by the Secretary-General, Dr. Souraya Bechealany, and the Director of Ecumenical Relief Service Samer Laham.

Within MECC “Cash for Work Program”, a Waste Management campaign was implemented in Dara’a responding to an urgent request received from the people of the region to remove the accumulated wastes from the area.

One of the major goals of the MECC is to improve the psycho-social wellbeing of children affected by the crisis, through training teachers in trauma resilience strategies.

The Middle East Council of Churches and the World Council of Churches recently hosted 47 representatives from member churches and related organisations at Notre Dame du Puit outside of Beirut, Lebanon for a week-long workshop on strategic planning for Diakonia programs and efforts.
